Who's running the club

THE BOARD

SNDGA is volunteer-run. These are the folks elected by the membership to steer the club, run events, and keep the chains ringing.

About

Our Story

The Southern Nevada Disc Golf Association was founded in 2026 to extend its reach beyond the Las Vegas Disc Golf Club and has grown to become the official home of disc golf in southern Nevada. It all started as a small group of passionate players at Sunset Park that has grown into a community of thousands. We organize tournaments, leagues, and volunteer events all with the goal of making disc golf accessible to everyone in Southern Nevada.

Vice President

MATTHEW DALANGAUSKAS

Matt's introduction to disc golf started with a chain basket by a Connecticut river that he mistook for public art. He circled it, studied it, and eventually found the sign explaining what it was. He bought three discs shortly after and promptly threw them terribly which, as most players know, is exactly how it's supposed to start. He moved to Las Vegas and found the game again through his coworkers, who pulled him out to a park at 11pm with some beers and a handful of discs. That late-night ritual became a regular after-work habit, and by 2011 he'd been folded into the SNDGA community entirely. After a stretch away while he focused on other goals, Matt returned to the club in 2025 and this time, in a leadership capacity. As Vice President, Matt brings both a project manager's instinct and a volunteer's instinct: before he asks what needs to get done, he's already asking how he can help. That orientation made him a natural contributor to one of the club's most ambitious projects to date is the construction of the Lee Canyon disc golf course, a back-breaking build he calls "well worth it." Professionally, he's a Project Manager and Lighting & Shade Specialist for an AV company, which means he's comfortable juggling moving parts, managing timelines, and finding creative solutions under pressure, skills the board uses regularly. What keeps Matt coming back isn't competition, it's community. He'll tell you that disc golf belongs to everyone: the weekend walker, the amateur working on their form, and the player chasing a professional card. His course preferences say something about that range: Red Ridge for fairway control, Sunset when you want to air it out, Mountain Crest for pure fun, and Peccole when you want to finesse the flight. His current bag leans on the Firefly, Roc3, Fox, Wraith, and Mamba. One thing people might not expect: in his twenties, Matt was a full-on hippie with dreads. The forest is still calling — he just brings plastic now.

PETER BEAR

Peter Beaulieu a member at large of the SNDGA Board. I was the President of the club many years ago and have been a member at large several times over the years. I have been helping in one form or another since 2010. I first started playing when a co-worker took me to Sunset Park over lunch and handed me some discs to throw at some baskets. After work I went to Big 5 and bought a starter pack and a champion boss (Way too fast for a new player, but what did I know). I then began playing the front half of Sunset Park on a regular basis at lunchtime. I was told to check out the club by homeless Pete and have been playing ever since. With Respect, Peter Bear
